Tarot Bio

At fifteen years old, my hippy mom gave me my first tarot deck. Since then I’ve read the cards in my college dorm room, on the shag carpet in my first apartment, at gay dance parties, in mansions, and at many bachelorette parties. On a nontraditional life and career path, I’ve used the tarot as a trusty compass. I believe that to live our most authentic, courageous, and creative lives, we have to trust our intuition. Tarot is a tool to practice trusting your gut.

Tarot Testimonials

  • “As the cards were read, I felt deeply affirmed by their insight and safe to share what was emerging for me in Sadie's presence. The entire experience was like a deep knowing handshake for my soul.”
    Alexis S.
  • "My first ever tarot reading was with Sadie. Her approach was both easy and engaging throughout the process, inviting introspection and exploration of opportunities for growth. I’ve enjoyed Sadie’s 'ease and engage' style of teaching yoga for many years, it was equally powerful to experience that through the tool of tarot."

Tarot FAQs

Can I book an in-person reading with you?
Of course! If you are in the Asheville, NC area we can arrange to meet. I also travel throughout the year and may end up in your neck of the woods.Or, if you would like to fly me out to a fabulous destination to bring the tarot magic to your next soiree, let’s talk.
What is a reading like? What can I ask about?
When life is confusing, messy, and the grind feels heavy, a reading lets you put down the shield and ask about what weighs heavy on your heart. You may have specific inquiries about your career or a relationship (it's always complicated, right?) But usually the question is more like:  “WTF am I doing with my life?” or “What do the cards have to teach me today?” Tarot plots your worries and your wonders along ancient maps, and is a guide through the inevitable unknown. It won’t always tell you what you want to hear but it will orient you to where you are, and how best to move forward.
Are you a “fortune teller”?
No, because I don’t believe that your future is fixed. More importantly, I don’t want to take your power away. I’d rather use the cards to help you create your own future. The best way to do that is to see what patterns you are in right now; what you are learning at the moment. A reading grounds us into cycles and seasons, reminding us that our forward path is rarely linear, and that positive change always requires internal work.
I’ve never done a reading before. What if I get bad cards?
It's totally understandable to have a bit of trepidation but getting a reading is actually fun if introspection is your kinda thing. Tarot reflects the full life experience—anything that we could be in the process of learning. A “bad” card can provide affirmation for difficult times, identify patterns of struggle, and can feel empathetic. It's like the cards saying, “Seems like you are having a hard time, let’s understand what’s going on here.” Sometimes “good” cards come up and they can be challenging to accept. When you have been on the struggle bus for a while, it's hard to know when to stop and enjoy a sweet rest stop. All the cards are invitations for subjective exploration and opportunities for growth beyond the “good” or “bad.”

How did you get into tarot?
At 15 years old I got my first tarot deck from my hippie mom. I read cards in my college dorm room, on the shag carpet in my first apartment, and at my first professional gig: an event my friend DJ’ed where my descriptions of the cards could barely be heard over the loud music! I regularly gathered girlfriends around the cards; we’d spill our secrets, interpret the readings, and support each other through major life transitions. It was bit like Sex and the City but with less couture and more quinoa.
Over two decades of teaching yoga, I regularly worked out the muscles of my intuition. Reading tarot is an extension of that work–it helps us to check in, examine our conditioning, and trust ourselves. As I began professional tarot reading, I’ve deepened my studies with Lindsey Mack of Wild Soul Tarot.  Along my nontraditional path, tarot has been a trusty compass that I’m excited to share.
