Retreat Frequently Asked Questions
Retreat FAQs:
I’m vegetarian/sober/gluten-free, etc. Can I still go?
Yes. We can accommodate most any dietary preferences. A few years ago we had a guest who doesn’t drink alcohol or eat gluten, and she described the retreat as “the most relaxing week of my life!”
My husband/boyfriend wants to attend with me, but he’s not a “yoga person”.
No problem! Our yoga classes are designed to be inclusive and adaptable for all levels. My classes are not about getting your ankle behind your head but about learning to move skillfully and sustainably. Regardless of your skill level, a week of these classes is a great way to release stress, become more mobile, and strengthen. Also, all activities (including the yoga classes) are optional.
I have an injury or recently had surgery. Can I still participate?
Absolutely. We all have aging bodies and past injuries. The retreat’s classes are adaptable and focus on supporting your body wherever it’s at. All activities are optional if you need to take a break.
Is my travel to and from Italy included?
No, travel before and after the retreat week is not included. Because our guests tend to arrive and depart at different times, with travel to and from different cities, it’s best for everyone to plan their own travel.
Is the price per person or per room?
The price is per person. You’re signing up for a full experience, not just accommodations. This includes yoga, meals, excursions, and so much more.
How is this different from just going to Italy on my own?
Instead of packing and unpacking every day while trying to see as much as possible, we stay in one beautiful, rural location for the entire week, creating a sense of home. We establish a rhythm: morning yoga, delicious meals, afternoon adventures, and evening aperitivos. It’s an immersive, curated experience designed for deep connection and rejuvenation.
You don’t have to do any planning. Instead of spending your vacation researching where to go, what to do, what to eat, and doing a cost-benefit analysis, we take care of everything so you can relax and enjoy la dolce vita.
How is this retreat different from other wellness retreats?
This isn’t about juice cleansing or trying to force yourself into extreme backbends. It’s about being together, surrounded by nature, and enjoying spectacular food. Instead of detoxing or extreme routines, our version of wellness is about lingering around the table with smart, like-minded people while savoring incredible food and wine. Stretching out during morning yoga and getting outside for lots of walking is the focus. It’s a chance to unplug, reset, and be well-fed—with a focus on the artisanal, the local, and the real.
What will a week of yoga do for me?
Practicing yoga every day for a week offers a profound reset: it deeply releases tension, it improves your posture, often heals old injuries, and allows you to learn to work with your aging body. (We’ve all got aging bodies!) By the end of the week, you’ll feel stronger, more aligned, and refreshed in both body and mind.
